Unity in Action Responds to ICE Raids in Nebraska
August 11, 2018
Unity in Action was notified today, Friday, August 10th 2018, that 10 out of the 133 workers that were arrested Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 in O’Neil Nebraska, have been relocated to Dakota County Prison, in Dakota City, Nebraska. Unity in Action is collaborating with organizations like Immigrant Legal Center, Nebraska Appleseed, and ACLU Nebraska to ensure that these individuals who were arrested receive fair legal counsel as well as ensure that their rights are honored under the constitution of the United States.
We want to encourage family and friends to stand with individuals and families who are suffering as a consequence of this raid and come together as a community to attend a prayer vigil that will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, at 1601 Broadway St. Dakota City, Ne. at 5:00pm. Unity in Action believes that people from all backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses can come together united through action to better the lives of all residents in our area.
