The Dakota County Sheriff's office has signed a contract with ICE to become 287(g) certified - that means sheriffs would be deputized by Homeland Security to enforce immigration law. The Dakota County Sheriff is the only Nebraska law enforcement agency to be a 287(g).

Sheriff Kleinberg has said that he will not withdraw his application. He needs to hear the concerns of the community.

Contact the Dakota Sheriff's office and the County Commissioners, and ask them to reconsider withdrawing their application.
